She also used her breast cancer diagnosis and choice to have a mastectomy to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening.

I'm not sure what planet some of you live on.

She didn't even start the campaign until late '86.

Ya'll act like prisons are full of harmless potheads.

BTW, Artie's trolling.

RIP, Nancy. She put a lot of class back into the White House.

Some impressive stupidity & ignorance in this thread. Nancy Reagan was criticized in her time not because she had anything to do with the "war" on drugs. Instead, she was a figurehead of a simple 'Just Say No' campaign. The criticism was that slogan was her answer to drug abuse. It didn't do anything to combat the systemic factors of drug use or provide any rehab assistance.

She lived an incredible & unique life, from Hollywood's golden age to the White House. And the only details provided in this thread about that life are wrong.

I know, right? It's like she advocated personal responsibility and accountability in the epidemic of drug abuse. How awful!!!

Out of respect for Mrs. Reagan and her family, I'm gonna withhold my response to some of your awful, insensitive comments, except to say that some of you are just insufferable

Her husband was a terrible president and an even worse actor. Her stupid just say no campaign contributed to billions wasted and thousands killed.

You shouldn't comment on matters when you have no clue what you're talking about. Your stupidity is on display in just about every post you make on this website. You are an embarrassment to your parents. If you have any children I can't help but feel sorry for them. If you were to kill yourself this world would be better off.

A little research into Mrs. Reagan's Hollywood career and activities may make for an interesting documentary.

She was Nancy Davis back then. A little googling is quite informative.

What if the bullshite game is against the best interests of the people and not based on anything resembling common sense? Americans with your mindset are a part of the problem. Just keep doing the same stupid shite over and over again even when decades of real results show that it doesn't in any way, shape or form work. I think Albert Einstein called that the definition of insanity. And you people wonder why things don't work anymore in this country. Because we continue to go down the same blind path of stupidity.
