There's a main street a few blocks me named Gerault. Correct way to pronounce it is (szur-row), but Texans are by and large ignorant and call it (Jure-ralt).

They are Mexican not Cajun
Ramirez and Martinez are Mexican families that decided to pronounce their names differently to try and sound not Mexican. Same way a lot of names change when getting to America
