I know this is a joke, but Denham has become better than anything Ascension has to offer.

Kansas City is very underrated.
One of my clients is located in KC, so I've been there a few times. The Power & Light district is pretty cool, and they have good barbecue, but that's about it

1. Columbus, OH
I have lived in a lot of cities being in the Army. Austin, Dallas, DC...etc. I really like living in Columbus, OH. From the low cost of living to the modern vibe of the city, it just has everything i need. Fastest growing city in the Midwest. Big college sports town of course. If you haven't been here, it's really becoming a major economic city.

You must be an excruciatingly boring person.

If you're bored in Dallas or Houston, then you're a functioning retard.
Or you're a "it has no culture because it isn't NOLA" guy.

Tons of jobs
Cheaper than a lot of other big cities
No state income tax
Great schools in the burbs
Lower traffic than other cities of its size
And I could stay home and get all the free sex I want with my hand but that doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy it or have fun doing it.

I have lived by cities (BTR, RDU, MCO, MSY, HOU) but never in them and no desire to.
In no particular order:
Merritt Island, FL (and preferably south of Pineda Cswy)
Lowcountry, SC
Madisonville, LA
Nearby Destin
Along Kancamagus HW NH (summers only)
Really surprised to see Boston on some lists. Just odd.

I'm extremely familiar with Dallas and Houston. Half my family lives in Dallas and I have in-laws in Houston.
There's nothing unique or special about Dallas or Houston. And my idea of fun isn't Dave & Busters. Cookie cutter homes and strip malls isn't living, its existing.
The point of life isn't money and perfection. It's love and fun.
And for the record, I live in a small semi-rural town 45 minutes outside of New Orleans. I wouldn't have it any other way as I can visit the most fun city in the country and still retreat back to my peace and quiet and experience the best fishing in the country and the best beaches within a few hours drive.

That's not my idea of fun either. So I do the million other things here.
And I've been on record saying Dallas isn't a place to vacation. It's a place to live.

Why are you such an a-hole?
No, I don't.
Most the people I talked to are from Southeast Louisiana and know where Lacombe is. When I talk to people from outside of Louisiana I tell them Im from the New Orleans area or I live just outside of New Orleans.
Do people in Katy Texas or Arlington Texas tell people from Montana that they're from Katy or Arlington or do they tell them they're from the Houston and Dallas area?

I wouldn't call any of those places big enough to be a city other than Boise, but I like your train of thought.
