I know the feeling. You'll start up again when you're ready.

I am and I trust that you and yours are, also.

Hopefully, things will get back to normal in the new year and you will be able to visit St. Jude's again. It's such a wonderful place. Even their commercials bring me to tears.

This is a great one. They have done so much for so many in Lake Charles this year. And they're not leaving anytime soon.

I also am fond of Shriners, for personal reasons. but they help thousands of kids and are wonderful people. Also, the very first shriners was built in shreveport by local people

St. Jude and United Way.

Wanna say United Way claims that every dollar donated, 5 cents goes to admin overhead and 95 cents goes straight to charity.

Nope! I just don’t pay attention!!

My daughter is at Ole Miss — her dream job is to work for ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude. I’m in awe of the SJ connections that she’s made in 18 months!

^^^thats why

I rather do actual physical work for a charity. But to each it’s own.

If your church has a hall that needs touching up, you’d be surprised on how much you can get done in a day if they give you the keys and work by yourself for a day.

The rotary club does a lot of good things. It’s weird though because in mandeville, every one I’ve met that’s in the rotary club is always an old prick with no sense of humor and a disdain for society

This. I never give a dime to any charity with too much overhead. SVP does great work.

The disdain people have for highly compensated charity CEOs always seems misguided. If a great CEO can squeeze another $3MM in donations, is he or she not worth $1.6MM? Obviously some are not actually providing a substantial value, but their compensation alone doesn’t tell me enough to disqualify the charity.
