One child was a state champion sprinter in track, the other had a 4.0 in HS, 35 on the ACT, full college academic scholarship, and a perfect 4.0 GPA in college in a demanding major.

What track event? Time?

ETA: my son runs the sprint races as well, but he’s young...and his times aren’t impressive yet.

Graduated #1 in his high school class. Full ride to LSU. Graduated early, got married and just received a PhD offer from the University of Hawaii.

When he was in second grade he got a school writing assignment published in a book, and got a $500 savings bond for it.

Hate to do athletic achievements, but my youngest scored 3 tds in the city league football championship and got league MVP.

He got to play in the state tournament and got his arse kicked by the national champ team from Frisco but he did get a pick 6 off of them and one of their parents was standing by me and said that was impressive because he outran the 11u 200m state champ. I guess track at that age is a thing.

My oldest is a fantastic graphic artist. Good athlete but that’s less of his focus.

I’m more proud of them being respectful young men that represent our family and Christ well but that’s not as exciting a thing on this board.

My three children (23, 20, 18) say "yes sir and no sir, yes mam and no man" to folks. They hold doors open for others. They say "thank you". They offer to help others.

I've had many moments when they've made me proud, but when someone tells me how well mannered they are, that's way up there for me.

I say "hate" in a very generic sense. Disagree with/ain't got no time for that foolishness is more accurate.

My 12 year old son is an average kid in every sense. Maybe a little on the small size. Even though he never comes in first he keeps going, at his pace. 5 yo daughter is said to be the smartest in her class. Both are respectful kids.

On several occasions strangers in restaurants have told us that we have well mannered children. We generally let them do whatever they want, but they know the golden rule: act like a fool in public and there will be pain.

My son's teacher (2nd grade) lives just down the street from me. We were hanging out in another neighbor's backyard with others a few nights ago, and she told me how they had been learning about bats in science. Habitat, different species, how they hunt, what they eat, etc.

She asked the class if anyone could name a predator of bats. My son's hand immediately went up, and when called on, he confidently replied, "Chinese people". Once she stopped laughing, she didn't quite know what to say, and he followed up with, "What? They're the ones that started this whole Covid thing!".
