The fact that every curb is in pieces, most intersections don’t have paint, the graffiti, and the fricking trash.

Crime and education are horrible but both are caused by the same under lying issue: lack of family values. Kids raised by shitty parents, single parents, and even divorced parents have more stress on them and lead the way for the fall of society. It’s the reason people spend $15k annually on private school. You don’t want your kids being brought down by those around them.

I would say crime, but I do think there is a very small chance it can change. But short term (as in the next 10 years) crime..
Education System: It was forever fricked up when they started moving kids around. When you have a school thats a few blocks from your house, but all of a sudden your kid has to be bussed across the other side of the city to go to school, that's just bullshite.
But I hate to say things will never change just because you just never know what will happen.

That thread about integration and bussing was very interesting to me. They threw fuel on the fire instead of letting society organically sort it out

The problem with that is the people in baton rouge and surrounding parishes have shot down a new bridge and a loop within the last 20 years. You had your chance. Even now, people complain about move br, widening I10 and other progressive projects because it either is a NIMBY or takes longer thank a whopper (double) with a large fry.
