This is probably the dumbest thing I've read in this thread. Gun technology hasn't been at a level for centuries that would allow a single individual to commit any real mass shootings. Unless you really want to argue that the lack of lone gunman musket mass shootings in colonial America, or the lack of nobody hauling in a 250 pound mounted gatlin gun and setting it up in a crowded area before anyone could stop him is proof that the proliferation of modern guns isn't a problem, then you just have your head too far in the sand for anyone to help you.

Yeah, no fricking shite bc that's around the time that the general public began to stockpile the types of guns being used in these shootings. Go back more than a few decades ago and your average civilian gun owner had nothing more than rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Nowadays a gun collector shows off his collection and 90% of what they own has no real purpose other than killing multiple people as quickly as possible.
For the most part, the guns being used in these mass shootings, particularly the premeditated school and workplace shootings are not guns that you would take out in the woods hunting, they are not guns that are useful in a home defense situation, they are not guns you carry on your person for self protection to stop muggings.
Why do you feel the need to own any guns beyond those capabilities?

Just playing devils advocate here, but maybe they are waiting for something official from the authorities before they run with a big story. The feds probably took control of the scene pretty quickly and are trying to finish preliminary investigation before releasing information.
Lots of time in the first hours after stuff like this, there is a lot of false information floating around.
But yeah, it will be disappointing if there isn’t some kind of press conference by noon to update folks in the facts
