I don't know why. If a salesman doesn't show you the value of a vehicle at what the lot is asking, that is his fault not yours.

Pretty sure that the dealer gets their cash regardless unless they are directly extending financing to the customer, otherwise Ford Motor Credit or whatever pays the dealer cash for the sale.

quote:

i always opt for the DELUXE 27% dealer financing to get the best price on the car and then either pay it in full a few days later or convert the loan at the credit union to the 2% financing rate.

How do you pull that off? Lead the sales and finance guys on like you're a total idiot?

In this day and age, what is a car salesman really bringing to the table?

What is the value of your vehicle versus the same exact vehicle across town? There is no value there. For the majority of the population cars are a commodity purchase. Commodities are usually purchased based on lowest price.

This

If you haven't done your homework you deserve to get fricked. Recently made a auto purchase and spent 30 min in the dealership. I knew what I wanted and what they had before I walked in the door. There was nothing the salesman could have done because my mind was already made up. Too much information out there for a salesman to really add any value.

Why do buyers think that they are entitled to some drastic discount off of sticker price because they are paying cash?

regulated corporations will own the vehicles and charge riders a fee to ride. Probably will paint them all the same color to make them easily identifiable. Yellow would work imo.

Not for me. I live in BFE and I don't think a driverless vehicle would ever be able to pull a utility trailer.

Does everyone here realize that the dealership actually makes less money like that? They make more money financing cars, not selling them as cash deals.

Which is why I don't tell them how I'm paying them until we agree on a price. I don't want him to know he's not going to make the money on financing and give me a worse deal.

I never hate on buyers for getting the best deal they can or shopping us. I get it. I just don't get someone thinking that "I'm paying cash today" means I insult them by not slashing the price thousands of dollars.

I watched my sister haggle with dealer and the bs back and forth with the finance guy...ended up getting a good deal and then said "I will put it on my discover card". Salesman seemed pissed. I'm sure they went lower thinking they would make some back in financing.

Cars should have a set price so whatever dealership you go to its the same price. Just my opinion.

Most dealerships aren't letting you put a car on your CC. That 30k car costs them 1k in merchant fees

The price of the car should be negotiated prior to arrangement of financing, if any.

Somebody's doing it wrong and I'm entitled to purchase that vehicle at the lowest price the dealer accepts.
