I have a friend that used to have his son in the front yard with his Pit Bull and the dog would stay by his side but if he went towards the road the dog would block him and not let him near the road.

It's pretty easy to get any breed certified as an ESA, which insurance companies can't deny coverage for.

What's funny is if a Chihuahua had the same size of those dogs they would be number 1 on the list

They did account for 35 of the 54 deaths last year. That is .0000087% of all the pitbulls were bad dogs last year. 80% of those deaths occurred on people who couldn’t fend for themselves..elderly and children under two. Over 90% of those were by neglected, abused and/or untrained by their owners. That small fraction needed to be put down. They were aggressive and probably unfixable.
The most dog injuries were caused by dachshunds. 6 other breeds were above pitbulls in ER visits. Pitbulls were the second most tolerant dogs, behind Labradors.
You’ll get the comments from the brainwashed here, the uniformed and/or just trolls.
If you actually do research you’ll find the truth. They aren’t for everyone, you need to have time for them. But if you get a puppy and show it love, there’s a 99.9 % chance they won’t end up on tOT.
A well trained pitbull is the one of the most disciplined dogs. They are one of the most loving and loyal dogs. There’s a reason they were called “Nanny dogs”, because of their reputation, amongst owners who actually know, with children.
At the end of the day 18 million Pittbull types in the US, loved unconditionally, a fact no one can debate.

Sad that you have to compare them to a much more aggressive dog for them to seem okay. Also, consider this. You had to put in lots of extra effort to make the dogs nice. There are plenty of breeds where you don't have to do anything special and they still turn out nice.

My sister and her ex boyfriend had a pit that they raised from a puppy. They weren't trash owners and their dog bit a lady walking to check her mail.
My former neighbors had a pit, a black lab, and six dachshunds that all lived in the house. The pit was the only one that ever attacked anything. If they were shite owners, wouldn't the rest of the breeds attack as well?
My grandfather had hunting beagles always locked up when I was a kid. Only time he ever took them out was to train them and go hunting. Never socialized with anyone but him and my dad sometimes. Once my grandfather passed, my grandmother gave away all the dogs. I got one and it was the best dog I ever had.
