Wow.

My wife does allow or disallow me to do anything.
Beta men are the worst.

Bro... if you need help then reach out, go to the hospital, call a friend, do anything else. Don't choose a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Everytime you talk, bring up a news story about a nearby shooting (there are plenty), and maybe a story or two of how the good guy with the gun stopped the bad guy with a gun, pretty soon she'll be begging you to help her pick out one for herself too. Play it right. No need to do things the hard way.

I never met a grown man that didn’t know how to handle a firearm.

What if they didn't grow up in a house with a gun?

My father hates guns. No one in my family hunts. His brother killed himself with a gun when I was a baby. So I can see why he doesn't like guns. So there was never guns in my house growing up. So do you expect that my brother grew up how to use a gun even though my dad hated them?

Because of how I grew up, guns still terrify me to an extent. My husband has a gun in our house(former cop) but I'm still pretty scared of it. I've taken a class at the gun range he belongs to and have gone with him to the range to shoot it. But I'm still not as comfortable with the gun as I would like to be. I just need to make myself go with him more so I can feel more comfortable. And I will admit...it is satisfying to actually hit the target where you want with your shot. But last time we went to the gun range....I must have made the range master skittish as hell cause he was behind our spot the whole time watching me like a hawk I just looked really nervous to him I guess...my palms kept getting sweaty anytime I held the gun so was constantly stopping to wipe my hands on my pants.

OP...maybe bring your wife to a gun range and let her get comfortable with a gun.

Or just say hey wife, while i love you, you do not have the right to dictate my actions to a certain extent. I am going to buy a pistol and you are welcome to join and learn about proper firearm ownership.

Just keep the gun out of her reach and hide the ladders. Women are too dumb to figure out chairs

Boating accidents are the number one cause of firearm loss/destruction.

Any man who needs permission from his wife to own a gun lacks the requisite testicles to shoot it.

Yea, I am thinking the fact that he just didn't go buy one a show it to his wife afterwards is probably a disqualifier, should probably be a question on the FFL form.

I own lots of guns, my wife and I have a deal. She doesn't tell me I can't buy more guns, I don't tell her she can't buy more shoes.

Her shoes take up more space in our closet than my entire wardrobe.

Nurse, I took you for a gun toting, red blooded Southern belle who eats what she kills and then does RN stuff in the big city. Im disappointed but you're still a cool poster

anyways, my SO was the same way but with a class and them trusting me the fear subsided. I still load the firearm and give guidance because I don't want to get shot

Are you married to a liberal?
Or does she not want to spend the money right?
Explain to her that they can be had for bargain prices at places like Simmons, TP Outdoors, Academy,..

TBH, she is afraid of them, and I think she is especially afraid I will use it on myself.

To be honest, if this is a real fear for either of you (using it on yourself or on her) do all of us sane and responsible gun owners a favor and DO NOT get another.

The last thing we need is another senseless crime committed by a gun owner.
