I agree, but if there is a push to put a national 15 week ban in place, they we would not have had any option.

Why would there be a push for this?

I have to believe under these circumstances, the waiting room was a group therapy session.

All that to say, not everyone gets abortions as a form of birth control.

But most still are.

This is rather subjective. Some people would kill a child with downs syndrome thinking it unfit to live while others would still see it as a life worth having.

Obviously the odds were stacked against her but the odds of surviving an abortion are far worse I'm sure.

Yes, and we strongly considered it, but we really didn't want our 3 year old to watch their newborn baby sister die on a hospital bed. And it sucks to say this as a factor, we were not financially prepared for medical costs associated with what it would take to give her a 5% chance of survival.

Thanks for sharing. That must have been a very difficult situation, and not a decision anyone would ever want to have to make.

I also agree that states should open up the laws to include these very common, specific situations - just not abortion used as birth control. The world is not always black and white - as this situation is clearly an example. I am starting to really hate the two party system because so many people can’t see a logical middle anymore.

Its not about being pro life or pro choice

Its a question of is it constitutional

It is not

Thus the states decide

If you want another abortion then fly to new mexico

because that is what the news is reporting that house republicans have their sights on after yesterday's ruling.

That’s literally a cop out.

Your convenience isn’t as important as a life.

Considering a majority of Europe has a 15-week ban minus some exceptions thats not "crazy" at all.

The US progressives outlook towards abortion is like that of China, North Korea, and Vietnam. Thats it.

But I do hope stories like yours don't get completely overlooked in the times to come.

That is really the intent of my decision to post this here.

You took away any chance your daughter may have had. My mother carried 3 babies to term even though they were not going to be born alive. My mom fought for her children to the very end even when knowing the potential outcome. My mom then spent the next 40 years donation plasma for mother's with negative type blood having babies with positive type blood. My mom is a hero in my eyes.

Your tendency to gravitate towards using your daughter as an excuse is very telling. Kids are amazingly resilient. They can cope with loss if the loss is covered in love and compassion.

In all seriousness, I hope this does not cause you undue grief later in life for you and your daughter. You need to accept that this was 100% your decision and your consequence and leave your daughter out of it.

I know that was a very tough decision for you and your wife. I'm certainly not going to judge you two and can only express my sorrow that this happened to you. I think we need to be cognizant that situations such as these can happen and allowances should be made. It's hard enough on the couple as it is. Thank you for sharing.

I feel like this is a fake story that is supposed to make me feel bad for being pro life. Particularly given he shared a link to other stories.

Even if its not, I really dont.

They took a childs reported 10% shot at a life and turned it to 0%. Im not sure how thats supposed to be merciful as this is trying to be portrayed as.
