My town just sent me a dog license due to Pet Census

Searched Tyco pet census and these people literally knock every door and see if a dog barks.
I feel invaded - still unsure if I am paying the $15 bucks

In our town you have to register your dog ($50.00 a yr), they give you a city tag for it to wear.
If it's caught roaming around with no tag it's a $100.00 fine.

Kids are registered dumb dumb. That's why you get a social security number when you are born. So pay the $15 and get your trashy Pit registered. That way when it mauls someone to death they will know who to come looking for.

How do they account for cats? Hope people bring them in for rabies shots & charge it then?

We have a county tax/pet registration fee. Used to be $10/3 years, but they just switched it to $10/lifetime fee.
Main purpose is to make sure all of the dogs are getting their rabies vaccination. Fees also go to the local dog park. I don't use them, but at least the tax is doing something worthwhile.

We registered ours in Hoboken. Don't have them registered in Asbury Park even though technically required. They are talking about putting a dog park in town and I am sure if they do they will check registrations more closely

That's the thing I take care of my pet - now they want me to find rabbies shot proof, proof he is neutuered and $15 bucks
