Believe me, those kids will really appreciate this when they get older.
Just tell him that he has to man up. If he runs from this now, he’ll be running from every problem for the rest of his life. With actions come responsibility.

It’s not about your stepson.
It’s about those two innocent kids.

In all honesty, there's a decent chance they arent his as I doubt a frick buddy who let's him raw dog it probably isnt exclusively sleeping with him. Absolutely get a paternity test before anything horns

Sounds like whoever raised him did a pretty shitty job if he's trying to get out of taking responsibility for nutting in some chick. No sense in the stepson raising another 2 frickups. Kids would prob be better off without him anyway.
