Clearly not since he was bringing it back.

Clearly, my "clearly" was sarcastic in my post and I think Grandma is a lunatic for thinking a felony is the way to go to teach her grandson a lesson.

Should have said, my parents grounded me from the truck that they bought, owned, gave to me (although not in the eyes of the law) and that i drove and still drive to this day.

Technically any kid whoever drove the car their parents bought for them, after being told not to, is committing GTA.

If this is the only really stupid thing he has done as a teenager than grand ma should cut him some slack. Find another way to punish him besides a criminal record for GTA.

Well I had a truck that was mine to use, but daddy paid for it and it was in his name.

I would venture to guess that since she isn't cutting any slack, it's clearly not the first stupid thing he's done as a teenager. Or even the second stupid thing.

The 130 isn't a big deal, everyone has gone that fast when they were young. The bigger deal is taking the car and doing it with a suspended license.

Chef is his dad and his license was already suspended....I'd bet my life savings this guy will eventually end up in jail whether grandma presses charges now or it happens later.

Why is this

quote:

My son went to jail for going 130 in his grandmas Audi last night

the thread title, instead of

quote:

My son went to jail for stealing his grandmother's car last night

It's like you think you are bragging

Exactly! They want to ruin this kids life by giving him a felony GTA because he borrowed his grandmas car, assholes!

He's 15. It's not like he'd carry a felony around for the rest of his life. But I agree. Pretty ridiculous all around if any of it were true.

ETA: I don't know where I got he was 15. Obviously not the case. My bad. Carry on.

Guess I should have specified. He was staying the night at her house and snuck the keys. Wanted to see his girl. He was most definitely bringing it back

This is 'unauthorized use' and not theft of MV.
