I agree. However, half the thrill is having to wait until the next day to
See....

Will Goku make it in time?

Can Vegeta's ego get bigger?

Will Gohan snap in this episode?

Is Krillin dead yet?

Find out what happens next time...

I bought a 4-DVD set that contains every episode of Spider Man and His Amaxing Friends, the ones that used to come on Saturday morning with Iceman and Firestar. My son loves it

That's because they took out all the funny "racist" bits.

I agree with you, cartoons these days suck. And it's a GD shame they have chopped up the old ones. Especially the old Tom and Jerry ones.

my kid watches Tom and Jerry a good bit. Kind of hard for anyone to not like Tom and Jerry.

Animaniacs is what you should be watching. Great show for all ages. Doesn't matter if you're 5 or 55.

Also see if he likes Avatar. Though Avatar might be suited for age 7. It is best modern era cartoon.

well you need to get back to finding the joy in life of a mouse and dog inflicting bodily harm to a cat over and over again.

If you really want to expose him to some classics, I'd suggest teaching him to read instead of staring at moving colors.
