What's his degree in?
How long have you been enabling his actions?
Has he ever worked?
Does he have any interest in getting some pussy?
Does he like dick?
Is he on drugs?
Does he drink and like to shoot things with guns?
We need more info to help you light a fire in his arse.

get off my payrol
someone old enough to graduate college shouldn't be on a parents "payroll" anyway.... having him on your "payroll" in the first place was your mistake...

What can I do to motivate him to get off my payroll?
Hunger is a pretty good motivator. Tell him he has 60 days to find a job and make him start paying rent and his portion of the bills(food, utilities, etc).
Make the rent/bills to where it will motivate him to move out.

Sounds like he has a job? Or do you just pay him to do nothing?

Sit him down and talk about his feelings. Ask him what the real reason is. Talk it out. I'm sure that'll work.

When he is gone one day; take all his shite, move it into a storage unit, and tell him he can have it back when he has somewhere to go with it.

I know a lot about this.
With a fancy degree, kids are ready to get a great job. What they NEED to do is hurry up and get started somewhere. Get your foot in the door and join the workforce.
Doesn't matter what you make the first 6months. Get a job at a well-known company and learn how life works. After 9 months get your resume ready. During interviews he'll have 1yr experience and a college degree. THAT'S when you get a better job.

Payroll???
?? That is your first clue right there. Next = "understanding this generation" is another clue and directly connected to the first clue. When did generations develop into an entity of their own? A lazy assed s.o.b. back in 1914 would be a lazy assed s.o.b. in 2014. Don't give me that "old" shite! What you are is stupid ... and that didn't start when jr. got a sheepskin! You have been a failure all along for letting the situation evolve into this. Now call the situation what it is - your son is a lazy assed user and you are an enabler.
Next step - either tough love or continue to let him screw up both of your lives. I'd suggest getting a large cardboard box, load jr.s arse in the car with said box and drop both of them off under the nearest bridge. .... or just live with it and quitcha bitchin.
This really is a troll, right?

Next it will be the Doctorate & certifications.

Give him a month to find a job and start charging him rent to live at your house.
It is a tough job market out there, but Canes is ALWAYS hiring and has plenty of room for upward movement. There is never shame in having a job and providing for yourself.
