I’ve had usaa for 18 years. Every experience with them has been top notch.

I was in an accident about 6 years ago and totaled my vehicle. They gave me almost 20% over kbb retail. They’ve been great to me when I’ve needed them.

I've had USAA for 26 years. I can tell you not all of their services are the same. I had a bad experience with a roofing adjuster too. After Gustav almost everyone on my street had their roof replaced. My adjuster denied the claim and i ended up out of pocket repairing the damages I had. My parents got theirs replaced with less visible damage in my opinion. I have since left their homeowners program. If you shop them, they are very expensive.

Their car insurance is top notch. When they do raise their rates it is minimal and do usually handle their claims. Their car insurance rates are hard to beat.

The banking is good for what i need, but sometimes i need a brick and mortar which i use Capitol One for. They will reimburse ATM fees and allow photo deposits. Their investments and mortgages rates suck, just shop around you will see what I mean. They sold off a lot of their money management services to Charles S I believe.

Price of anything construction related has doubled in last 20 years even with cheap labor continuing to pour across border

What is important for homeowners to know is their claim rests mostly in the hands of the adjuster that comes out. So many don’t know what they are doing so don’t be afraid to demand another adjuster.

My buddy is a claims adjuster with a major insurance company. If he handles your claim you getting a check.

I want USAA insurance, but here in Houston, at least, my quotes have been significantly higher than other companies for both home and auto.

I give them a call every renewal period to check though and it's the same everytime, about $1k higher than others.

I know this isn't the case in La where my Dad he saved almost $2k by switching to USAA for homeowners and auto, but for whatever reason, their more expensive here.

Not saying you don't deserve a new roof with more context but those photos are not showing storm damage. Definitely not hail anyway. That is some weird granulate loss which could be from a manufacturer defect or the installers were doing a dance on your roof.

What a weird thing to raid. How do you know they were kids and not some 60 year olds?
Saw them running out of my house when I pulled in the drive way. They stole a few other things (a couple old laptops, a cell phone) but the cigars were the biggest thing, money wise. Probably tried to roll blunts with them.

They have been awesome with my car insurance. They were dicks about my roof when I wanted homeowners coverage, so I went with AAA there.

Congrats. You are correct that it matters who you have. Im fighting allstate right now for my roof damage. Went through 3 inspections and 4 roofers. They wont budge. We have shingles missing after a storm in march and 3 leaks. Im going appraisal process with a public adjuster now. After that Im going through an attorney as they sent denial letters during the process when pending inspections were still set, trying to discourage me from continuing the claim.

I couldnt understand the adjusters on the phone and they were incompetent as a child processing the claim. I think DMV workers could do a better job of follow up and processing. This has been a nightmare. Ive never filed a lawsuit against anyone but at this point Im so ticked off I probably have no other option. Leave them if you have them. All roofers and the public adjuster have told me its an enterprise level decision they dont pay for roofs

I only deal with the auto side of insurance. I will tell you that Farm Bureau, USAA and Shelter are the top three to deal with in our area. Bottom would be Progressive, Geico, Allstate and the leader in the race to the bottom - State Farm.

We had a car from General Motors and a stove from General Electric.

Does this mean that I’ll get really great treatment from USAA?

I have Geico for my cars and though I haven’t had any claim with them yet, they are by far the cheapest. I shop every renewal and nobody comes close to their rates for me. I have 100/300/100, 50/100 UM, 500 coll, 100 comp, rental, roadside service on a 2015 and 2021 and even have mechanical breakdown coverage on the brand new vehicle and I pay $196/month. Nobody can sniff that rate.

Im switching to USAA.

We have been fighting State Farm since August. Been through 4 adjusters. They do not want to pay hurricane damage to house. It is ridiculous. State Farm is not a good neighbor and Jake can go F himself
