"People it's done"? What's done?

Your career prospects?

This is a typical English midterm. 2 short essay questions. The quotes will be in context of the entire book and you'll be able to use those quotes to answer the question your instructor provides you. If I had to guess, your instructor discussed the quotes that will be on the exam. They probably discussed the context and had lectures that contributed to answering the questions themselves.

Now if you want to discuss how ineffective hour-long lectures are, we can do that. But don't act like you're getting blind sided by some new bullshite way of testing students. English professors have been doing this for a long time.

The first two years of required English courses should be automatic A's for anyone putting forth any effort. You might get hit with an a-hole teacher, but that's actually rare. Most of the time, if you read the books, take notes during the lecture, and put some effort into studying, the midterm and final are a breeze.

Here's some practice for you:

"Maybe ever’body in the whole damn world is scared of each other."

"Life is to be lived, not controlled; and humanity is won by continuing to play in face of certain defeat."

"Some men get the world, some men get ex-hookers and a trip to Arizona. You're in with the former, but my God I don't envy the blood on your conscience."

“It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.”

"You forget what you want to remember, and you remember what you want to forget."

"Finally, from so little sleeping and so much reading, his brain dried up and he went completely out of his mind."

"History, Stephen said, is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake."

"And meanwhile time goes about its immemorial work of making everyone look and feel like shite."

"Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing."

"No one forgets the truth; they just get better at lying."

"It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane."

"The only lies for which we are truly punished are those we tell ourselves."

"I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing."

Dang that's a lot, it looks like my professor is looking for more quality of content then quantity.

I basically memorized the notes and probably wrote it all down on paper close enough to the point where I could've been sacked with an honor code violation

I had a test in high school AP English where the teacher listed quotes from a handful of English sonnets and we had to give the name of the somet and talk about it. I think that was my worst grade in the class. For my excuse, it was one of the last exams of the year and I was tired

Better than the 2 Question engineering finals that the professors know are impossible to finish in 2 hours.

Had a take home final my last year for a upper level math elective i should never have taken - 2 questions, took me like a week to finish and i still missed certain parts of the final solutions.

Math 4038?

I didn't hate Fourier Series too much, but remembering some of the formulas that made simplifying the problems got me twisted some time. I took something called introduction to perturbation techniques and asymptotic expansions my last year.

we learned something called matched asymptotic solutions to boundary layer problems (different than BVP) that was the most confusing and hardest thing i've ever done. i think the teacher gave me a passing grade in the end because he thought anyone who stuck through it and made an effort should have passed - it was an elective so sort of dug our own hole signing up for that.

English 2000 lol? If this is comp 2 your professor is a dick and you're an idiot, if it's just some survey to "some time period or place" literature and you are struggling, drop out of college and go to trade school. Complaining about 2000 lvl classes lol.
