My phone just called itself. How is that possible?

I wasn’t even touching the phone. If you call your own number it goes straight to voicemail. Has my number been compromised. Anybody had this happen before?

Telemarketers using spoofing to imitate your number.

Most likely your phone is tapped.

This.
It happened to me a few days ago. You’d think they’d be smarter than that.

Your number has been spoofed by telemarketers and has probably called a few hundred people in your area today.

Your future self was calling to tell you not to drive after 4 PM today or it will end badly

It’s from your future self. Turns out he didn’t change his number.

It’s not like anyone is overseeing the random number generator to make sure it’s not the same number it’s calling. It’s all automated.

How difficult could it be to put some code in the dialer program that says, “if spoof number = call number then next number in random list”?

It wanted to tell-a-phone

Probably not that hard, but I doubt they care enough to do it. Most of those calls are cold call car warranties and mortgage shite.
