They make those? 7th Ward's been holding out on me.

Whatever. I think it's a good deal for me. YMMV

No matter how thoroughly you explain the concept of interest to people, they still make bad choices. A conversation I had while working at a tax office:

Person: I want the refund advance loan

Me: Ok. They have a pretty high interest rate. If you wait just two weeks you can almost double your money.

Person: no, give me the money now

Good job Bullfrog

I don't know why all of these financial gurus who have time to post on a message board during the middle of the day are giving you shite.

Sounds like you need to change your W-4

Almost everyone needs to update their W-4. No one seems to care.

What?? All you MT posters brag on low interest notes on your new cars to use that money elsewhere.

These advances are 0% interest and no fees. Are all y'all that dang dense or do y'all just talk out of two sides of your mouth when y'all want to feel smart to us great unwashed masses?

Your sweet deal requires you to pay a minimum $175 in tax prep services.

$175 for a $400 loan for 3 months is about 175% interest.

Thanks for that answer. But that cost is paying for a service I need anyway. It's not interest.

And it will be $1300 total advanced at no cost, when I come back with my W2.

I can't see any reason to wait on the irs. They aren't even going to give refunds until the end of February.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

I swear some of you people must cut your hair with a Flowbee so you don't get ripped off at Sport Clips with their ungodly interest charges.

same, I can pull up 2001 tax returns on TT, and every year since then. Plus it's free to fill it out on TT you pay when you file, so if you are really cheap you can go through turbotax and then copy the info to a 1040. If you file a 1040EZ you are dumb to pay for filing.

They charge a huge fee to file taxes that you can do yourself online for 30 bucks (or free depending on income). If you take the standard deduction you can file your own taxes in 10 minutes . Chances are the person doing your taxes doesn't know the first thing about accounting either.
