You are over-complicating things where they don't need to be. You are also trying to say that a relationship is the same thing as a kiss. How hard is it to say that person A is kissing person B because he likes him in a romantic sense? The gender does not matter. If you want to talk to your kid about your beliefs on if that is right, that is a whole different discussion. When I read the OP, it just asked how to explain the act.

You are the one that brought up biology and history where it isn't relevant at all. Analogies aren't supposed to be exactly alike. I was simply showing that millions of years of biology is not relevant in explaining why a man is kissing another man.

When my young daughters saw a lesbian character on an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer kiss her girlfriend and then asked about it I just said, "Some girls like girls, some boys like boys. So if those are the two parts of the New Testament that mention it's "wrong to be gay" then why is it every time a christian mentions it's wrong in the bible they bring up the Leviticus line.
Then. of course, if you ask "Hey how come we didn't stone David Vitter for sleeping with that whore" then they reply "Oh we don't follow the laws of the old testament, those were made for the Jews"
O' RLY???
Then where does the vitrol towards the gays come from?
Because the average man would not get the context of the two (and only two) mentions of gayness in the New testament.

You didn't get the point. Obviously not condoning an action doesn't equal "hate." We both agreed on that.
But to suggest that as truth - even as you admit that it isn't true - because of anecdotal evidence and sweeping generalizations - cheapens the discussion and attempts to marginalize legitimate opposition. That may not be a huge deal as it concerns homosexuality but it is an enormous deal as it concerns other aspects of American society. These poor discussion techniques ultimately cause major problems down the line.
That's why its a big deal.
