My little brother had a stroke

Life changes on a dime.
He's mad at God and I don't blame him. I'm mad at God for him.
The last 43 hours has been a blur. Doc "prepared us for the worst" and I think she was doing that off some malpractice prevention flowchart. Things could get worse, but the latest was he could have a full recovery.
Lord's prayer includes "Thy will be done" and sometimes that means God is going to get your attention by hook or crook. I'll take it, and so will my brother at some point. Easier for me to say right now though, I'm not the one who had the stroke.
Good people get mad at God. I've never thought about it like that until now.

If you don't mind my asking...how old is your little brother?

How old is your brother and what were his risks? Does he smoke? Was he a lifetime drinker? Did he eat right and exercise? Was he obese?

Man I'm sorry to hear you and your family are going through that. Does he have a wife and kids? Prayers to him and your family. My father in law had a major stroke three years ago and it's a long and difficult recovery.

Lot's of people have strokes for different reasons, but there's reason to catastrophise and jump to conclusions that this will be that life altering. Have faith and see what multiple doctors say after tests are completed.

Terrible. Do you have a family history of heart disease? Might want to get yourself checked if so.

My cousin's kidneys failed last week. Went from being in good health one day to in the hospital on dialysis the next. They don't know yet what caused it. Married with two little girls. You're right, life changes on a dime, and if there's a god, he doesn't play fair. Best wishes to your brother and your family.

Sorry to hear that man. I lost my dad to cancer this past September, so I get the whole having an issue with god thing.
Thoughts are with you and your family.

Actually doctors recommend drinking

That sucks, hoping for the best for him

Sorry about your brother. Not sure why all the downvotes your way.
Strokes are nothing to take lightly. Friend of mine...her brother(who I think was also in his 40s) had a stroke very recently while doing work in Tanzania...that he ultimately died from.
Wishing your brother the best recovery.

I get it man.
People love to say "God has a plan" but that is just bullshite.
If God's plan is to kill innocent children all the time, then he is no god I want to praise.
At best, if there is a God, he is a vindictive, cruel a-hole.

smokes a little
5'11 and maybe 210, in shape pretty decent but works too much and doesn't get quality exercise
not a drinker at all, that's me
stress related mostly

it's a wakeup call from God
all that matters in his life is ending up wrapped in His grace

Hoping for the best. My wife had one in June 2017 at 35 out of nowhere. Was in no major risk category at all. Dr's think it was caused by birth control. Luckily everything turned out ok & she has no defiencies from it.

God bless you man, I'm sorry
Don't take my "mad at God" thing to heart please. We don't need to stay that way. But it's refreshing to admit it happens from time to time.
