My hot take on the 2017 Ford Raptor

A buddy just got a brand new one and I checked it out.
Things I like:
- Great stance and presence. Truck has a hulking appearance. I particularly like the amber marker lights required by the width
- Auxiliary switch panel. These are factory installed with fused wiring already in place under the hood. Can be be used for owner installed accessories. Great idea.
- Skid plate package and suspension are both impressive looking from under the truck
- Lots of configurable tech settings (maybe too many?)
- Great off road tire / wheel setup from the factory.
- Sustantial rear tow hooks integrated with rear receiver hitch
Things I don't like:
- I'm just not made for the F150 interior I guess. The huge console shifter that I can barely reach my hand around seems like a waste of console storage space for no good reason. Some of the plastics and switches still look cheap to me. Everything just seems a bit overdone if that makes sense. At least the seats are much improved and finally offer decent lumbar support.
- The huge plastic FORD tailgate cover looks a little goofy.
Things I am indifferent on:
- The paddle shifters
- The engine exhaust note
- Out the back dual exhaust

What is the point of the Raptor?
Doesn't the Platinum and King Ranch offer the same Engine and Drive train?

Thankfully My dick is above 4 inches, so I don't think I'll ever need to buy one of these.

I had those auxiliary switched on my 2008 ford. Didn't think they still put them in there

Something tells me the driver in that gif is named Brayden and he's massive Florida or Tennessee fan.

Most important question: is there a place to hang the truck nutz and room enough for a salt life decal?

The engine exhaust note
Unfortunately, this is the first to go when you slap a couple turbos on an engine

Just buy a f250 king ranch 4x4 and be done with it

Cant you just buy a sick BOV and smile every time the turbo spools?

Interestingly enough, the F150 steering wheel is shaped such that I can't rest my hand on the wheel in the bottom opening at 6:00 (opening is too small). Go figure.
I drive alot with one hand resting at 6 so this is a no-go for me.

lol no
I abused mine offroad and it just asked for more.
at 126k miles it never had one alignment and the steering wheel was straight as an arrow. Only issue I ever had was the third brake light allowed moisture and had to be replace twice. apparently this shorts out the entire 4wd system

The earlier models were better. The 2017 is a slightly watered down version.
