AT, are you going to change how much you sell on EBay with the new 1099-k rule in 2022?
If you aren’t familiar with the change, when the Dems passed the American Rescue Plan Act they lowered the 1099-k reporting threshold for businesses like eBay from $20,000 to $600. When a seller hits $600 in a year, eBay will send them 1099-k. Seems like people selling on eBay for fun will be impacted the most.

Like I said, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. There’s still no better place to sell than eBay. I’ll just have to do some creative tax claims (truck, mileage, computer, office space, etc)

So true, I’ve tried selling stuff in FB marketplace and I just lose faith in humanity, unless it’s something that will be a pain in the arse to ship or I know will sell super fast because of high demand, then I’ll go eBay every time.

That starts to take the fun out of it for me. I may limit my sales in 2022, not sure yet.

The new Craigslist, full of scammers. I only sell in FB groups like Saints collectors, LSU, collectors, and vintage toy collectors. They are closed groups

Wrong
Thank you for calling me out for being exactly right on what I happened.

Maybe some idiot on Ebay will pay it because they don't know any better, but they're only worth $50-$75. The tech is outdated but they aren't worth any kind of collectable or vintage value.

If you look at the sold comps on these clubs, you would have known they were gonna sell for $150+ all day long. They may break $200, after all said and done. These getting to $150 is not a fluke. You are just trying to say that the people that are buying all these Nike clubs are clueless, and have no idea what they are doing. They all can’t be wrong.
It’s just like anything else, people like to play with what they like to swing.

How do you ship those so cheaply? Or do you eat part of the shipping in your sales price?
Posted on 12/26/21 at 10:13 am to madamsquirrel
It’s a calculated shipping, so the price you see there is what it would cost me to ship to Prairieville. Someone in New York will have a different shipping cost. I will probably eat $5 or so on the shipping. I forgot to add the costs of the boxes ($6 each)

Gotcha. My items are small and need a lot of packing so I normally use priority flat rate.
Big lego- about 10 years ago I was making bank on FB marketplace. Now it is a shitshow.

If your items are small, why use flat rate? Get the non-flat rate boxes from usps.

All said and done, before eBay fees, I made $1118 off of my $185 investment (about $985 after fees)
