Wave of the future

A neat concept they tested, at the Galliano Walmart about 2 years ago was the option to Scan, Bag, and go.

While your shopping either you use your phone or a provided handheld scanner to scan your items as you placed them in your cart for bagging.

Once you are done your groceries are bagged and you just have to pay. You would scan the barcode on the register and you would then proceed to pay. It was similar to a system that Sams Club uses.

Now they did stop it as it was a 6 month trial.

What do you expect as long as idiots like you are willing to work for free. Self Checkout should get a 5% discount instead of working for Wal Mart for free w/o any benefits. Frick 'em.

Seems to happen every time at Wal-Mart.

This is why I like our NW. They don't have that feature telling you to place it in the bag.

Ive never had this happen. Most are happy to scan and go..
You've NEVER had a cashier make small talk? I can only assume you're hideously deformed.

I am hideously deformed but 99% of the time, the "small talk" is usually the perfunctory "How are you today, sir?"

This should work great in a country that can’t trust its population to not steal anything that isn’t locked lol

It turns a light above the checkout red when someone scans alcohol and the self checkout attendant scans her card and puts in a code.

There is usually a CSM at those checkouts that can approve it off of a handheld device.

I live giving people jobs. Not every cashier is a loser. There are hard working teens, older people, and people who actually want to do better. Less jobs I’d imagine gets more people on food stamps and Medicaid. Biden is eliminating the work requirements for food stamps and Medicaid.

Most of the time they aren’t really paying attention until that red light goes off. So just bag the alcohol without scanning it. Free beer.

I hate when they ask me "Got any plans for the day?" and I don't and then I feel under pressure to come up with a lie on the spot and it's usually dumb. Or I tell the truth ("sit on the couch, smoke weed, and watch Ancient Aliens") and feel like a loser.

self checkout ftw
