Billionaires don't have insurance?

There are 197 billionaires in the state of California, and the overwhelming majority of them are in the Bay area.

How would their insurance come into play?

Billionaires don't have insurance?

Do you think all the people in Maui and LA are billionaires?

There are going to be THOUSANDS of people that don't have enough insurance coverage to rebuild in California due to no coverage or lack of fire coverage (which isn't really their fault other than choosing to live there).

I bet a lot of them get whatever cash they can from insurance, sell their land, and move somewhere cheaper. Probably quite a few that leave the state altogether as the opportunity now presents itself.

rebuilding wont be as expensive as you think. If someone's $20 million dollar malibu home burns down, they can rebuild it for 2.5MM.

The value is the land/view.

not sure how valuable the land will be now though.

Maybe if California focused on providing proper infrastructure to their legal citizens instead of spending billions of taxpayer dollars being a sanctuary city, they could have water and firefighters

How long before private equity groups come in and scoop up a lot of that property that the residents are financially unable or unwilling to rebuild upon?

We need a law like 5-10 years ago on this

Well sure. But that doesn't help the victims of the Eaton and Hurst fires at all.

I think the biggest heartbreak for most of us is when we lose places like Charlie Manson homes and murder sites

Value is often in the building permit for the land. They'll do some sort of expedited rebuilding that allows reconstruction in the same footprint and height of prior structure.

Speaking of conspiracy theories, where are all the people that claim the government can control the weather?

If that were true, wouldn't they be making it rain over the fires?

It’s the same with countries starting wars under false pretenses simply because they want the other countries natural resources

Cloud seeding isn't a conspiracy theory.

You just have to have a certain type of moisture filled clouds to do it and I don't think that's the situation now in California.

Do billionaires need insurance outside of liability?

Burn 'em out if they're poors or old in a gentrifying area maybe. But this is already richville. And nws warned days ahead. Why bozo mayor didn't have people and assets positioned is a whole other question. Apparently she's like Teedy and just traveling the world. She didn't even bother to come back from Ghana till people started asking where tf she was.
