Have you watched the ones about the family in odd west virginia?

Shite is crazy. He took them to wal-mart the other day.

Yes, like so many others, that's how I was introduced to the channel. That video blew my mind so much that people in that state actually existed. Watching true addicts give real interviews about their life is probably more effective than DARE in helping keep people on the straight and narrow

Samson, just out of curiosity, did you or your PI ever look into soft white underbelly at all?

This is awesome that you found your brother and from what I've skimmed over he's taken you up on the offer to help get him clean. That's one of the hardest parts. I truly hope this story has a happy ending, because he's got a lot of work ahead of him. But for now, I can only imagine the relief you felt in finding your brother.

And on a separate note after watching the video, your mother sounds like a real piece of work. I hate to talk about someone else's mother like that, but holy frick man.

I’d like to think we can get a good update in a few weeks or month or so saying he’s still getting clean and back on his feet for himself and his son. Would be awesome to see a redemption story with his kid down the road.

First off, you're the man.

Like others have said watching Colin you can tell he’s a good person who had some bad breaks.

Secondly, you're right about this. Colin was a young guy trying to do the right thing and be a good dad to his child and some bitch used that child to send him on a mental spiral. I'm not saying Colin is innocent because he is ultimately responsible for his decisions. But some of these women out there really don't understand (or care frankly) the emotional toll it takes on men trying to do the right things and be a good father. Then all they do is complain about how men are shitty absent fathers when a lot of the times, they go against court orders and shite and deny the father parental rights.

I've seen that kinda thing first hand with the trashy side of my wife's family and it is absolutely infuriating to me.

What are the chances that out of the millions of homeless and drug addicts, that they would interview him, it would go on YouTube, and someone here would find it.

This is so nuts. I don’t think people even realize how crazy this is.

Much more intriguing than those Friday night murder mystery shows on ABC & NBC. Chicken gets higher ratings than the networks and the reprobates work overtime to help a brother out. It’s a Wonderful OT Life.

Wonder if he’s like that in real life

Such a heartwarming story man. God's got a plan for him. For him to take the path he took, be found the way he was found and now headed back to family is nothing short of a miracle. They say if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. God bless.

Seeing the flight cancellations in the other thread has me thinking about you and your brother. Prayers y’all can get home safe for Christmas.

Update:

He’s in pretty rough shape but still has a sound mind and beyond happy to be out of that hell hole and home for Christmas. I will continue to share details of the situation/his recovery progress here since he was essentially found through the OT (thank you again LSUEnvy-I sent Chicken an email requesting to shower you with TD merch) and all the genuine support he’s received before and now after.

He didn’t have an ID necessary to board a plane nor a way to obtain one in a reasonable amount of time due to several obstacles, so I rented a vehicle and drove us back. It was a haul (L.A. to Houston) but was great to be able to hear all of the stories-including missing pieces I wanted to know following the car accident before he went MIA. It also gave us time to discuss the next chapter and recovery plan going forward. He also slept like a champ most of the way and in a comfy bed at the hotels for the first time in 4 months.
So I’m glad we drove.

He will be staying with us through Christmas with the necessary meds needed to keep him from any dangerous withdrawals. On Monday he will enter a 10 day detox followed by a 30 day in-patient recovery center. He sounds ready and genuinely committed and I’m beyond happy for that. As a lot of y’all have mentioned the real work is about to begin, but he has the right attitude and I’m believing for a successful recovery and looking forward to seeing him make the most of this.

I’m still so happy he is alive and the timing of being home for Christmas is just extra. Really couldn’t have been more awesome/Devine. I Appreciate all of y’all (even the previous shmucks and haters) and thank yall for the prayers, kind words, advice, personal experiences etc…I promise to keep y’all updated on Colin’s recovery.

Merry Christmas OT

Sampson, I'm praying for you and your brother. This is an incredible Christmas story - make it come together for your family this Christmas, and see it through for the long haul.

Keep us updated as things progress. And reach out if you need help. The OT is all about that.
