Oh he’s into golf at 5? Sounds like you have a Tiger on your hands

I don’t really understand the mocking tone here. The OP never suggested he was some child prodigy.

This may have been said already but every little boy needs a jackass around to call him on his BS. Could be an uncle, older brother, that family friend that never lets kids win at board games and laughs in their face when they say something stupid. I enjoy being that guy. Ton of fun.

FTR: What the average Alabama uncle, brother, cousin or family “friend” does to 5 year-old boys is disgusting and felonious.

Fact.

I was the smart kid, but I had merciless older cousins who kept me in check. On the other hand, I had a younger cousin who was born after the initial family birth glut who was allowed to think she was the smartest person in every room. Seems to be fairly well adjusted now as an adult, but life got really, really hard for her when she became a teenager.

My 6 year old is the exact same way.

Yesterday my wife asked me what time it was and I said "5 o'clock"

My 6 year old hit me with the "ackshuuuuuually it 4:56"

I've never spanked my daughter but in that moment I questioned that decision.

You have a "Wonder Boy" and like I told someone I worked with a few years ago when he was bragging about how smart his "Wonder Boy" was ..... give it a few years and you will wonder what the hell you have on your hands.

Something about the smell of perfume and poon makes a "boy" go crazy.

At what age do they outgrow this for good? Our 11 year old still does it occasionally. It’s aggravating as hell.

Get him into a Steiner school. Develop other side brain.

Feeling.
Etheric.

Dad will have to learn and be more than he is.

Feeling and etheric are not in south Louisiana macho vocabulary but thats whats missing.

The ex's kids were like this at that age and NEVER grew out of it (ones 16, other is 20 now). Nothing worse than a know it all that doesn't know a damn thing. Smartest dumbasses I ever met.

OP, Good luck! Seeing that you recognize it I think you'll handle it the way a good parent should/would.

My 5 year old daughter is the same way. That's why she averages .5 notes or emails from the teacher per day.
