and he still hasn't lost a tooth yet and I don't know if I should take him to the dentist about it or not. I don't know if I should start moving his bottom front tooth to loosen it up or by the tooth growing will it push it out. If the tooth came out all the way it would sit right behind the other one and I never seen that before.

Take him to the dentist before you decide to start treating him on your own.

Whatever you do, don't assume maple syrup will fix the problem.

See if you can move to Sweden and legally give up your child so he can have a better life with parents who don't need to consult an anonymous online message board for dental care.

Translates to:
"My son has a dental condition but I have no idea if I should consult a person who specializes in dental conditions or not. Thoughts?"

Rather than posting on an adolescent message board, try taking him to a dentist.

Take him to the dentist. He will likely pull the primary tooth to make room and hopefully prevent serious alignment problems.

This isn't uncommon.

If the second tooth comes in fully and the baby tooth still hasn't fallen out, IMO it is time to have it pulled. Talk to your dentist about it.

It's called a mesiodens. Leave it and have dentist check it on regular basis.

They usually decide removal on a per case basis:

If you interrupt the baby tooth/permanent tooth process, it can take even longer for the real permanent tooth to come in. If you pull it, chances are he is gonna be toothless in that area for another good year or so...

If you don't have it pulled, and it doesn't fall out, he will have crowding of his teeth.

Same thing happened to my son with 2 of his baby teeth.

Dentist x-rayed them and said it wouldn't be a problem. Week or 2 later they had both came out. The permanent teeth pushed them out.

You do need to go to the dentist and make sure there aren't any problems though.

This happened to my son a few months ago with both his bottom front teeth. We just yanked them out and the adult teeth kind of "floated" into the proper position.

Thanks for the info and I will let the dentist check it out occasionally then.

If I've learned anything from all the TV shows I've seen it's that all you need is a string and a door knob and the problem is solved.

Or an apple.

All these posters suggesting seeing a dentist.

OP, don't waste your time or the dentist's time (unless it's just a regular visit/check-up). Nothing is wrong with your kid, his permanent tooth will eventually push-out the baby tooth. It happens all the time and is no cause for concern.

Bring the 5 year over to my place. I have a tested and proven method using a door handle and a string that will get the tooth out. I also only charge 75% what the dentist office will charge you.

My daughter had two baby teeth that were fused together when they surfaced. We called them "bigin" The dentist did an xray after a few months to verify that the adult tooth would be fine when it started to grow. When it became apparent that the adult tooth was coming he pulled "bigin". Just listen to what the dentist says.
