No, he texts from school or the stadium…and never on time. Showed up with his cleats yesterday and the other boys were coming out of the locker room fully dressed for the field…my son still in his uniform.
Texts a few hours later to come get him…show up and he’s one of 3 boys still there, like he’d been waiting 40 minutes. We live 3, if that, from the field.

I took my daughters door off the hinges and took her phone away.
She straightened her arse out real quick
I had to take the door off my daughters room a number of times. She liked to slam it shut when she was mad. Gave her a temporary attitude adjustment.

Coaches texting 15 year old girls seems pretty weird
My daughter does high school cheer.
She is also on a competitive team (think travel ball for cheer)
Both coaches use the BAND app to communicate with the team.
No text because the coaches don’t want the girls to have their phone numbers.

You will soon realize that teenage boys (13-19) are the absolute dumbest humans on earth and teenage girls (13-17) are the absolute meanest

I think I was dumb until about 23. Late bloomer

It's quite impressive how lazy and dumb boys can be

I only had girls so haven't had to raise a boy. Our youngest is almost 16 though. She hasn't given me much trouble yet thankfully

she might need to speak with a therapist. She's upset about something.
This but you need to be very very very careful about which therapist you select. If you get some man hating progressive wench it will make the problem 10X worse.

Do what I did, just say "tough shyt" to both of them. You pay for the roof over your daughter's head. When things get tough, whom do they look to to " do something"? You!!! So do what you should and don't worry about either one. Your wife will bitch because she is being bitched at , but as soon as YOU dig in. The wife and daughter will respect you . WIfe will be glad to let it go.....daughter will continue to " hate" you until she graduates high school. You are Public Enemy #1, #2, #3.....

Man reading all this makes me thank the good Lord for my well-behaved and well-mannered kids. We've never had any of the issues I'm reading here. When they were younger (5 to maybe 10yrs old) there was the occasional spanking but that all ended by the time they were 11 or 12.

I have an almost 16 year girl and it’s rough. The attitude is the worst and the way she speaks to me is awful. I feel like I didn’t spank her enough but she got spanked almost everyday. If I take her phone away I let her text friends she lost her phone so she can’t text. We have a standing rule that in school nights the phone comes in our room. 14-17 is a tough time.

My daughter is 15 and she's been a little diva for about the past 10 months.....she's getting better but still a typical teenage girl

she needs her phone because that’s how her coaches communicate with their players on things. I told her I don’t give a damn they can contact us. She keeps repeating they are teaching them to handle their business without going thru the parents.
I find this to be a problem. A coach shouldn’t be texting your teenage daughter, that’s how those stories of “teacher caught having sex with student” start. I went through high school during the ride of cell phone popularity and smart phones came about. No teacher or coach had a kids cell number

My boy is happy, just not responsive or insightful. He’s never disrespectful, has a healthy social life, great at sports …but what’s going on in his head is God’s own private mystery.

My youngest is almost 17 and we’re finally through the sassy years. Just be consistent, firm and loving and you’ll get through it.

I could not agree more on teenage boys being dumb. My son is 16 and gets excellent grades, is involved in music heavily and is talented. But my word he has some moments. I am pretty sure he dug out dirty clothes to wear to school this morning since he hasn't washed clothes since who knows.
At dinner recently the wife asks the table about taking a trip somewhere during Thanksgiving break. Cabo, NY someplace like that. The boys contribution was let's go to Waco, TX. Where that thought came from only God knows.

Good luck, my youngest is 24 and still acting up. Half convinced she's bi-polar. She doesn't want to get tested and I don't want her to either, some psych will just want to medicate her.
She's a college grad, has a great job and the wife and I just may have to accept this is who she is.

Only when it's convenient for them.
My son is a literal genius.
When we would have parent/Teacher meetings, the teachers heaped endless praise on him.
Smart, helpful to underclassmen and staff, respectful, etc.
I asked them if they had my child confused with someone else because we were in the midst of "that stage" that many boys go thru.
US: "Who left the g*damned roast out? It's ruined now!!!"
Boy: "I dunno...."
