You should have walked by their table when you were leaving, and tell the long-winded geezer that y'all are aboot to buy them, and he will be the first let go, because he is too wordy.

Don’t have a corporate job and don’t own any jcrew.
Your quick responses to everyone making fun of you further confirms that you are full of jealousy lol

I hope you can learn to overcome your anger.

I work for a large corp. It's great, and nothing like you described.
Maybe you worked for a shitty one. I don't know.
Can you point to the spot on the doll where the mean exec touched you?

This dude def:
1) worked in corporate job and couldn’t handle it and didn’t make it
Or
2) really wishes he did and never made it
It’s one or the other for sure.

This is just the ramblings of an older guy whose outlook on life right now is better than its ever been.
I too left the rat race this year. I've gone from grubbing for money to helping my family. I was always trying to get 'more' and realized that you can never really get it. I have what I need materially, and now I get satisfaction from the work I do.

I’ve had BBQ before. Could’ve been me.

I think we all get more perspective as we go along but everyone's different. You can't possibly know the lives of the people you judged at that table - or what really motivates them or makes them happy. From what you said, I must assume you've attained a level of wealth and comfort from your time in corporate America that allows you the luxury to choose to write and make music rather than work. Perhaps you should be thankful for that to some degree.

i left the corporate world myself but shitting on it is so lame and reeks of jealousy/insecurity. it's really not that bad and every type of career has its pros and cons.

I actually pushed through all of that crap you wrote, solely because I had some time on the crapper to kill.
And your conclusion is you are better than other people? You have clearly not matured.
Go frick yourself. Your mother deserved better.

Musing on corporate types in a BBQ joint.
Dad says he started to get pissed. The white-haired dudes were 'obviously' looking to impress (scam) the girls into a bedroom. He says he was teetering on interjecting at several points. The waitress brought the check ... with thanks to Mr. Conrad Hilton.

Corporations are just like any other community. You have all types. And though those types are all over my organization, I am the antithesis of that. I extract monies from my soul-sucking multi-National employer and bemoan their idiocy at every turn. I do not care if they fire me for not playing their games, and I let that be known, for I will be gainfully employed shortly thereafter.
I tried explaining to a woman the other day at a Xmas party in my neighborhood that I have no career aspirations and have no desire to be promoted because I make far more than my boss and all I care about is my compensation. She said “that’s so sad” - I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
