Perfect example, on his second murder after beating a girl to death and burning the body. He will be out before you know it.
Manslaughter and 17.5, so he'll be out after serving a bit over 13 years (because of the date of offense, he'll have to serve 75% before being parole eligible) in a case that appears to have significant witness and evidentiary issues. Did you read the article you linked?
This is giving weight to my argument, not countering it.
ETA: Because he has two prior crimes of violence, he would have to serve 85%, or roughly 15 years.

Yea I’m sure the girl’s family takes comfort in knowing their daughter would still be alive if the POS did more time after you know, the first person he killed..……

And you can appeal to emotion all you like. In reading that article, he was charged with Manslaughter after he killed a rapper at a party, so almost certainly a self defense type case. This case wasn't self defense, but it appears as though the State had serious problems trying to piece their case together and got what they thought they could get.
So again, the fact that he's going to serve a decade and a half in prison on a case that even the DA admits to the media was dogshit speaks to my position that murders aren't plead down to serving a handful years on the regular. They just aren't. Sorry this fricks with everyone's world view.

quote:No. It's not. It's a plea to manslaughter from a second degree charge. I don't know the details of the case, but if there were a chance of the perp beating the rap, the ADA would've been inclined to take whatever time they could get on a plea.
Perfect example,

According to the linked article, the case is so bad that the State had to dismiss the indictment prior to a previous trial date because they didn't have the witnesses that they needed, so they rebilled him with Manslaughter (being you don't need an indictment for it). If their case didn't improve from there, I'm honestly surprised they managed to get 17.5 on it.

Its amazing. Cities all over the country setting new homicide records......records that were also broken in 2020!
Liberalism is a disease. Reaping what they sow. I thought all cops are bastards though? All their policies are doing are leading more blacks to kill other blacks. A blind man could have foreseen this.

BATON ROUGE - At least three people were struck by gunfire along a highway Friday night. The shooting was first reported around 7 p.m. on Greenwell Springs Road near Highway 190.
Sources told WBRZ three people were hurt. Two of the victims were taken by paramedics, and a third person arrived at a hospital separately. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
BR New Year’s Eve triple shooting
Just need another mass shooting in the Quarters parking lot or a ghetto nightclub club on Florida to add some additional padding to the all time homicide record.
Imagine the shite show on Plank, later on tonight

Hold tight, the gunfire exchange in Valley Park is heating up currently. Might get one or two with stray bullets alone.

Bawell St coming in hot wouldn’t be surprising.

Alright. I am officially setting the 2022 o/u on the number of murders in BR at 158.
I am going to try to keep track of each murder in the city just for the data to see the medium age, race, etc.

I think this is Greenwell Springs at Airline but almost nobody refers to street names by highway numbers in EBR. Not sure why they wouldn't just say Airline Hwy. Everyone would know where that is.

I see New Orleans ended the year with 218 homicides. Another big increase!
How many is BR on? or Jefferson Parish?

BR ended up around 170; 2022 could be the year it finally takes over NOLA in the murder count.
The clock is ticking on this to occur, once St George is incorporated with its own police force or at least a mayor that backs the blue a large swath of EBR land will be safe and difficult for BR to catch NOLA.

Please don’t ruin the fun of these tracking threads by trying to take it over and make it your thing. Thanks
