ultiple flights bound for New Orleans were diverted to Baton Rouge on Tuesday morning.

According to Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport spokesperson Kristen Jewell, the diversions were caused by debris and construction that briefly blocked runways at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

The blockages have since been cleared and flights have been sent back to MSY, Jewell said.

Doesn't sound all that big

Sounds like only two flights were diverted and it's all fixed now...

It's a nice clean little airport. But 5-6 extra 737's worth of passengers would make the terminal.....crowded.

Again? This happened last year as well. Cardboard boxes on the runway.

Could be worse..."Sorry folks we have to land at an airport without a jetway 50 miles from New Orleans on a short runway. We will be landing in beautiful Houma."

"On a good note, we will not leave the plane we will just refuel and wait until the dumb fricks clean up the mess at MSY and we will be back in the air...Thank you for flying Spirit..."

I wouldn’t call that…a mess at all. You should see SHreveport when DFW flights are diverted for bad weather.

And yet you got an adrenaline rush knowing you were the first to post it here.

it says right in the article (that is only two sentences long) that it was only two planes. So you didn’t even read the fricking article before you rushed to post it here…

you suck, not the “alarmist” media

Well, point taken about me, but no doubt they suck too for the alarmist headline.

I see no way you can dispute that, and why you are defending WBRZ for turning 2 flights into multiple is unfathomable.

Maybe you work there.

And let me add it's still worth reading for MSY airport screwing the pooch.

That’s all that is left after the explosion at the Parisian cheese factory.
