A live round with no chamber or barrel is practically a Black Cat.

This isn’t the movies. Rounds cooking off outside a chamber will sound more like firecrackers than gunshots and won’t generate near enough velocity to be dangerous.
Myth Busters did a whole episode about this.

There were 160 drivers involved in that wreck with an untold amount of passengers.

My money is on an a-hole 18 wheeler driver or some other truck driver driving like an a-hole like they typically do in fog and rain

My grandfather, who is in his 90s and still drives, will go 40mph on the interstate if it’s raining. You can’t convince him that is dangerous.

That's a tough call in a situation like that. Getting out of the vehicle is a risk, staying in the vehicle is a risk. There's really no good choice, especially if it is on a bridge like that.
Wife and I were discussing this yesterday. If you had time to get out of your car before someone plowed into you from behind, getting as far forward was the safest place.

RIP to all. Nakia Gaines is an especially horrible loss. He was a huge part of New Orleans. This is a big loss. Unfortunately his son was with him! Just terrible!

LA STATE POLICE still don't know where to start on this. Perhaps someone on here know something and can help.
Click link and give them the info. They don't got time to read 16 pages of this site.

Holy shite! Wonder if he always carries that much for his job or just shitty luck to be moving them that day. Nothing like dodging errant live fire in the fog with chaos all around.
It was his last day of work. He was doing one last task and that would be it. I’m ecstatic to hear he’s going to make it. That nurse was a true hero, saved countless lives. His wife’s account is accurate too, he had come to a complete stop and had flashers on due to a small fender bender in front. That was until all hell broke loose when the 18 wheeler went right through the cars ahead and the fire started
