One glance at the Yelp reviews and I know I would rather drive to Pensacola than use this airline...

It is only about a 2 1/2 hour drive (usually). Hard to imagine the situation where flying would make more sense.

And one in two passengers will be morbidly obese.

at least you can still fly drunk - party in Pensacola and fly home. Possibly cheaper than a hotel or DUI?

FWIW MSY will also start flying Southwest Air directly to Costa Rica.

Those Birmingham flights will be key for those of us who have business there. That 5-hour drive absolutely sucks.

Wish there were more Southern, non-stop flights to cities like that.

For Pensacola, I'm thinking that's directed at folks with homes in the panhandle. If you want to just do a weekend, way easier to fly on the reg than burn like 6-8 hours of beach time round-trip.

Nah, Silver has been around for a while and doing very well. They find routes that have a niche for people who value time saved flying and are willing to pay for it, but can't afford charter air prices.
