Where is IB and the others to tell us that no one wants to eat at the airport? That all those amenities aren't necessary and no one wants them?

Only 32%?

What's the comparative increase in number of food and beverage options?

Good news.

Most reports indicate the new terminal is a success.

Question, do they need a 100 million dollar interstate exit?

My first thought.

Just because McDonald’s sells billions of hamburgers every year it doesn’t mean they have the best tasting food.

meh, show me their profit margins vs last year and then we can actually talk about it being a success or not.

lots of places have sky high revenue and don't make any money.

Would you think I'm crazy, if I'm starting to think, no?

After working out a few kinks, the traffic problems really haven't been that bad at all. The new lanes and traffic signals seem to be working. If anything, any congestion problems are once you are on property.

Yes, some big tests are ahead - spring convention season, Mardi Gras, Essence, etc. But do we need 100 million of ramps for 5-10 days a year? Ground traffic seems to be working the rest of the time.

I kinda agree with this. Been to the airport 4 times since opening and there was basically no issues at all getting from the interstate to the airport.

I just flew in and out of the new MSY for the first time this week. The cluster F that is walking to and from long term parking/around the ground transportation area is hilariously bad. Why did they not build a sky bridge over all of the lanes of traffic? The police officer/traffic guards were yelling at all of the cars to keep moving, then they were yelling at the people standing in the cold just trying to cross to get to their cars. I felt badly for anyone visiting NOLA for the first time getting yelled at right when they arrived I heard locals apologizing to the visitors for the rude welcome

I hear it is working fine now.
Plenty of airports work fine without interstate interchanges.

No, I think you are reasonable and could change your mind.

That’s what I’m seeing too.
Maybe they could save the money, tweak things instead? We are short highway dollars, and we could do more elsewhere.

I thought it was $400 million....and probably $500 million when finished. At any cost the answer is probably no.

Edit: was originally $150 million, now its supposed to be $125 million, answer is probably no.

Picked up someone yesterday. Less than 15 minutes from interstate exit to getting back on the interstate.

The traffic flow issues are all people related. I've never seen a traffic circle completely baffle like this one does. The person in front of me had 3 lane changes and still had to stop in the middle of the circle because they were trying to see where to go instead of reading the signs.

As for leaving, everyone keep in the right lane. It makes it easier for the people who pay attention.

Good numbers but that won’t fix the POS bottleneck at the drop off.

Learned an important lesson at dropoff last week. Dont park next to the curb unless the driver plans to get out.

This had to increase, the previous choices were horrible. You couldn't even find a water fountain in the old terminal, it was seriously 3rd world. As for the parking and traffic access to the new terminal, typical New Orleans fashion, let's build something nice and not care how people get in or out of it.
