Is it? An uber is like $40 and a taxi I am sure is similar. The second you add a stop anywhere between the airport and the quarter it will be ruined by the locals. The cost of doing something like that will be astronomical and can be better spent elsewhere.

You make some good points. The benefit would be a cheap route with no traffic and a known travel time. I'm talking about airport to downtown direct in 15 minutes like the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Center. That route costs about $8. For a NOLA aiport link, adding stops along the way would be awful. You are correct that it would be expensive and they're probably never doing it anyway. Still, it's one of the few examples of a rail link that would make sense in Louisiana.

They’re getting anymore airlines to occupy the extra gates?

You’d be surprised by the list of airlines wanting to fly out of MSY.

More international flights would be worth it

I do not live there anymore so I don’t use it much but the new airport feels Busch League. I liked the old one better.
What could you possibly have liked about the old MSY airport setup more than the new one?

Could they consider running more than one tsa lane at a time then?

Its like walmart, 50+ scanners… but only enough staff to run 1 or 2.

The interstate sure seems to be a mess since they moved the airport. I don’t know if related, though. Clearview onward outbound is horrible.

Maybe because it goes from 5 lanes to 3?

I think that is the next phase of expansion on I-10, Veterans to Williams.

Although that is going to be a cluster trying to widen those already narrow bridges over the canals.

Hard to believe that Nashville’s airport handles almost double the number of passengers as MSY.

Instead of constructing something new, they should do something with the old terminal first and repurpose it for international travelers and add some sort of people mover to connect the terminal without using bus transportation. Don’t some terminals have these like Dulles:

That way you don’t get stuck in traffic and you avoid having to get refondled by TSA.

The new MSY has been much better than I would have predicted. The parking is the one major issue. 90% of the time it’s fine, but every now and then they run out of spots. That shouldn’t happen.
do they still have to shuttle you across Metairie for a rental car?
