They are so unintelligent. The people running the airport must be complete morons.
Instead of letting people wait a few mins they make you constantly circle with quadruples the traffics. Meanwhile, in the pick up area it’s so empty you can play a game of whiffle ball.

Had one that didn't want to let me use the crosswalk... my ride was there so I did it anyway. Then they started yelling about me getting in the car in a non-loading area... I did it anyway.

Funny - I literally just bought a ticket for my wife (no pics) earlier today to fly out tomorrow and back next Thursday final destination Baton Rouge. Looked at MSY and BTR and BTR ended up being $250 cheaper. $300 to BTR - $550 to MSY round trip.

Those people are very unprofessional. On my last visit, I was being given conflicting commands by two of them at the same time about where I should go to pick someone up. Shortly after, another one was standing in the way of the drive lane for no reason while absentmindedly waving for me to proceed.
And these situations are the norm for this pathetic airport.
But it is a NOLA operated facility, so just lower your expectations and work through the BS.

They do it at BHM as well. I was picking up my teenager at midnight a couple of years ago. I saw the group inside, so I parked in a pickup spot by the door, walked inside to grab her suitcase, and before I made it the 10 feet to the door I was getting screamed at. Said I couldn't park there. I gave it right back to the guy and said I'll be gone in 30 seconds.
