Need to get one trying to keep costs at minimum and use another source as opposed to hospital . What are some legit options for me. TIA I know there are some independent Imaging Centers in town that do them l I guess I’m looking for experiences when using those.

Maybe try one of those attachments for your phone that can see through walls. Infared I think. It should at least narrow down your problem.

Well I went to one at BR General that was going to charge, my portion $1500.00. I didn’t ask they just set me up and sent me there. I went in and couldn’t take the tube. They sent me to the open MRI on ONeil Lane and they were going to charge $1700.00 but I still couldn’t do the tube. I just had anxiety.
So I looked and talked around and found Imaging Center on Summa that has an upright (chair) MRI which I did. Their charge was $900.00.
So stick to your Heinz ketchup. With a $7000.00 deductible I tend to shop and that is an area that you can. I’m not getting Dr Tischner to do my heart valve but there are areas in health care that if coming out of pocket needs to be shopped and the prices vary wildly.
Medicine too.

Try the imaging center at the baton rouge orthopedic clinic on Bluebonnet.

These might work with you if you don't have insurance
In this order as for quality of imaging, and the radiologist they use.
Imaging Center of Baton Rouge on Summa Blvd. (do not confuse with Baton Rouge Imaging also on Summa.)
Blue Bonnet Imaging or Central Imaging (they have the same owners)
Last resort LA MRI on North Blvd, they work mostly for cash in personal injury cases.

Call around and ask for the "cash" price. You can get it for about $450 to $550.

Oh man you millennials have it so bad
I can’t imagine
If you were a boomer like me you’d have to aim a “tube” at a nazi tank

I’d be willing to bet I’m a much older boomer than you.

Lake imaging wanted to charge me $1200 out of pocket for CT with contrast. That's where my Dr. Initially sent the orders. It sounded high so I consulted a friend with knowledge of such matters and he recommended Bluebonnet Imaging. They charged me $480 out of pocket. About 2 months later they sent me a check for $480 because they were able to code it so my insurance covered it.
I can tell you anybody affiliated with FMOLHS or OLOL, such as Lake Imaging, have never sent me a refund. I worked there for 6 years and they are a bunch of damn crooks that operate under the guise of a faith based organzation.
That organization sullies the name of St.Francis of Assisi.

They can I just don’t take them. And mine did include a CT brain scan but it shows you need to shop some things around.
A dermatologist wrote a prescription for a tube of acne cream for one of my kids. They wanted $900.00 . When my wife talked back to the Dr about prescribing something else they refused. Kid got Clearasil a new Dr and some sympathy.

If you have bcbs, go to their website. They have a program where you can see prices for some procedures like an mri. If you pick certain providers, they will actually pay you money back to use them. Forgot the name of the program
