Here are some other quotes from Mr Rogers
Every episode - “There's only one person in this whole world like you. And people can like you exactly as you are.”

“There is no person in this whole world who is a mistake, no matter how different that person may seem”

“I think those who try to make you feel less than you are – that’s the greatest evil.”

It is always funny to me to watch Progressives try and defend the bullshite their ideology has wrought.

Yes, he would either be canceled, or forced to apologize. One or the other. If he goes against Progressive dogma, this is the natural order.

If he made the mistake of apologizing, then he would be harassed until he was canceled.

Your ilk does not give a shite about history or who is a global "treasure".

quote:

The man devoted his entire life to kindness, acceptance, and inclusivity, so to twist this silly song into something transphobic is shameful.

Quit projecting.

Yep, anyone who is tryna twist his words into anything else probably never listened to the man talk. He was kind to all and embraced everyone, no matter how different they were.

I love Mr Rogers - his show was great and it was great for kids - he would unfortunately be canceled today - he cared too much

Nah, he would have just changed his message to accommodate

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that Mr. Rogers was or would be anti-trans. Or anti-anybody.

Mr. Rogers famously had a black man on his show to use a pool with him. That man was also gay, and Mr. Rogers knew it, and he was completely accepting of that in the 1960s. He only kept it under wraps for fear of backlash against the man.

If he were alive today, it's far more likely that Mr. Rogers would be a hero to the left rather than someone to be "canceled".

Why would he have had to change his message? His message was always the same, and he lived it. Accept and embrace everyone.

He thankfully lived in an era where you could say these truths without too much concern about misuse because the broader culture wasn't promoting a suicide cult to children.

He would have been more explicit on who to accept

Im laughing at people in this thread saying there wouldnt be backlash. He might not be cancelled and taken off the air but that 34 seconds in the video would be ripped to shreds by the msm and social media

Would not have been a change. I will refer again to when he made it a point to use a pool with a black man in the 60s.

Some of you folks need to do a rewatch. And pay attention this time.

know one thing, we’re not gonna slander Mr. Rogers in here…….

I say this in all seriousness. I truly think one of our issues with society, especially Gen Z is that they grew up without Mr Roger’s.

That man taught a lot of children proper manners and most importantly how to deal with their emotions.

You take him away, take away dodge ball, and give everyone participation trophies and you get the fricked up generations we have now.

Sadly this is true…. It just shows how todays America is full of a bunch of spoiled shitheads that just don’t care about anything but themselves.

This is exactly in line with what most trans people would say...they were born one or the other. Other people decided if they were a boy or a girl. Biological sex is an inarguable fact. Gender, on the other hand, is a social construct, as is race. There is no ambiguity in that, only a misunderstanding based on actual ignorance or willful ignorance. If you doubt it you must have doubted your own gender at some point and settled for one...most people never do that.

It still isn't. Just because something seems pervasive in your own mind does not mean it is prevalent in American culture.

You are just fed those articles by an algorithm trying to sell clicks.

Go to a football game, or a park, or a bar, go touch grass period. Noone is trying to convince all the children there to commit suicide. People are just trying to live their lives.

No, I am not. Watched almost daily as a kid.

As a former progressive, I am NOT mistaken as to how something like this would be taken today. He would be forced to clarify his remarks, adjust, and apologize or be canceled if ONE insane progressive on Twitter whined.

Until he said something minuscule that would be misinterpreted by morons that vote Democrat. Then you would have idiots like the ones on The View parading around asking if his comments are "problematic".

I tire of people like you who have grown convinced that being contrarian will garner some intellectual credibility that is otherwise unearned.

Suffice to say, reality - which is that Hollywood, most major media outlets, the government of the United States of America, and nearly every major corporation in the country promote the myth of transition as healthcare - completely undermines your argument.
