Even if you have a nice job lined up, quit that job, and don't ever come to Nola again. I'm doing you a favor. Nola is the #1 shite hole in America, and I live here.

High cost of living, horrible job market, and the Rona is keeping the nightlife to a minimum.

Live low key so you don’t get robbed, if you have anything nice it will be taken away or destroyed. Make sure you keep up with your nextdoor app or neighborhood Facebook group for scammers and crimes in the area. Lock your doors, the trash of the city will check and see if you remembered. I’ve been robbed and screwed over more living in BR so it’s all subjective to where you are moving to. I would wait until this covid bullshite blows over though, there’s nothing to do here at the moment. Have you thought about the north shore?

WTF is wrong with you people? Dude is asking whether he should party it up in NOLA, Houston, Dallas or Austin for the next 5 or so years at the end of his college career and shortly thereafter.
For me the only answer is NOLA. Houston and Dallas would not be in consideration, FOR ME. They are not my kind of towns. Austin and NOLA are the only two I would consider.
The answer would lie somewhere in HOW you like to party. DO you know anyone/have any friends in either place? Do you have job prospects in either place? Those would be the determining factors to me.
Can't do much partying without money and friends.

I thought the north shore was more a place for families

Most of my friends don't live in Austin or NOLA. I have a couple in Austin but I would mostly be on my own. Will I be miserable? I don't go to school in Louisiana.

Uptown golden rectangle.
It's the 90210 of the South.

Make sure your affairs are in order before you move to NOLA.
Nice knowing you.

But nola has the same bohemian feel

One of my kids moved to nola for school and stayed and lived the partying single lifestyle. Even with a significant other it was a ton of dinners out, happy hours, golf, art, Christmas parties, Mardi gras, etc. In their late twenties they were transferred for work to a small Midwestern town. Everyone in the new place is married with kids at their age. Huge culture shock for them. They certainly miss nola.

There are those on the OT that don't have a clue about New Orleans and they never will. But for those of us in the know, there's not a better place in the USA.

I would go somewhere with less crime, or you will end up in a morgue.
