I know people hate New Orleans but it really is a great city. Hopefully it can come back but I’m giving up

But also, frick New Orleans because I have spent my better half of my life off of Elysian Fields and dealing with a lot of shite.

I was a product of never leaving the city, but with a family I can’t stay here. I’ll be be back

Metairie ain’t all peaches and cream.

It has its fair share of crime.

These sentences are contradictory. Some things about New Orleans are great, yes. But in the aggregate, no, there are too many negatives among very important criteria, like infrastructure and crime, to call it a great city.

Great cities will never make you "give-up" on them.

I grew up in Gentilly. There was a time when you couldn't find a better place to live

You won't believe how great life is in Denver for you. It will be an adjustment to the culture, but so many problems that you just live with in New Orleans aren't there at all. It's really eye-opening. The main problems with Denver are the huge homeless population and sky-high housing prices, but other than that, it's an incredible place to live. I envy you. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I interviewed for my dream job which was in Denver last year and didn't get it.
