So where do I go to take my mid-morning and afternoon dump?

St. Francisville not in play?
For us? We actually already have paperwork started for a house on Fennwood Dr. (one that did NOT flood). We've been sending in bank statements and such to the lender and shopping insurance. It's pretty much a done deal, just need to sign a few last things.

St. Gabriel?!?!?!? Saint Gabriel is a hell hole and the city police department (yes they have a city police department) is about as corrupt as they come. They make the Sorrento Police Department (when it was still around) look respectful. The whole economy of the city is based on revenue from chemical plants and speeding tickets. Don't know much about the Iberville school system but I dont think it is close to Ascension and Zachery. Good luck going to St. Gabriel my family moved out a long time ago.

Zachary or Central.
Houses in Central have gone sky high since the flood. Mine jumped up about 40k in value. The same type house nearby sold for that much more than it did a year ago this time.

I really don't see the benefits of being so far away from anything. The idea that Zachary or Prarieville has a better quality of life seems insane to me.
I don't live in the area anymore, but I can't imagine wanting to live in the places you mentioned.

Gonzales to Port Hudson will be a nightmare drive. Zachary all day long.
Also good luck with the new job. I personally know of dozens of people they've fricked over in the last 2 years. Forced retirements, forced out if they don't like you. Good solid long term employees that were shite canned.

Every other Monday during school year I'd take kids from Baton Rouge to Gonzales at STA, then 61 all the way to Port Hudson. Then after work I often worked papa johns in Pville. Nightmare 2011-2015. whew!!

I'm central bred myself but I could never go back to that
I thought the same. I'm only here for the school for my kids because I'm cheap and don't wanna send them to private school. I figured I was raised in a public school and turned out fine. I learned how to evacuate with a bomb threat and learn who to talk to and who not to talk to. You know, real world problems.

I do know all the Safe-Havens(quiet air conditioned shitters) around that place.

Zachary, Grad of 89, and place has grown a bit. a few good places to eat, removed from the frick frack of BR. Uncle is a retired MD there so parents recently moved back home and instead of central they went to Zachary. The town was not impacted by the flood fwiw

Mine was for sale by owner when the flood hit. Our house was on the back lake on the next street over from you. We left by boat and got water up to the thresholds and in the garage but not in the house. A week later we had it sold for full asking price which was $35,000 more than when we built in 2012. I've seen almost the same houses in there now for sale for $40,000 more than we sold for.
