I forgot to mention she ended up giving birth in the passenger seat of the 'Stang on the way to the ER.
All the soda water in the world isn't getting that stain out.

Should be required to live together for three years prior to getting married.
Posted on 2/6/20 at 8:50 am to I Bleed Garnet
No, its cost efficient and let's you make sure you can live with the person.

My gf and I moved to Silicon Valley together after LSU, pretty hard not to live together in that situation.

If no kids are produced, then no. If babies are made then it’s super trashy.

the divorce rate PLUMMETS with couples who live together before they are married. Its a staggering number that I choose not to look up at the moment.

I could not think of a reason why you would not move in prior.
Its actually kinda stupid not to. I guess people back in the day didn't do it because they were getting married at 18-20 years old or just some stupid tradition their parents told them about.

How so?
I had to know about for one of my classes years ago. Basically, you're far less likely to marry the person if you hate living with each other in the first place. You find out flaws/bad habits beforehand. It's pretty simple.

Ok boomer.

Boomers started this trend when they moved in with someone 9 months after their first divorce

this is what he means by misleading
it means that people that live together and decide NOT to get married would have got divorced if they had not lived together
its pretty dumb logic, but its the logic that GLTs is seemingly obsessed with in this threads

"it's misleading because those people just never get married so they can't get divorced."
Which means the people getting married are the ones who will have stronger marriages and won't get divorced. Meaning the divorce rate will go down.
How is that not a huge positive?

Please provide said reference.
Most studies show a higher divorce rate with cohabitation... the complete opposite of what you are stating.

Newer studies are starting to debunk that. One was posted when we did this thread last week.
