It started with anal Chess cheating, then poker cheating, and now fishing cheating...

What a year.

I'm not fishing any tourney where the prospect of someone needing an attorney is possible.

Well most tourneys said winners are subject to a poly but a lot never follow through with one.

These bastards were dumb enough to cheat, fail a poly, get off the hook with a lawyer, and then turn around and do it again the next year.

They coulda laid low a yaar or two then hit the bank again

Imagine going to prison for cheating in a fishing tournament while jails are turnstiles for robbers, rapers, and car thiefs right now.

Bass "Legend" Mike Long used to catch fish, raise them at home, then tie them to trees before tournaments and "catch" them. Or raise them to record size and "catch" them in the wild to have bass records.

How did they get filets of other fish inside the fish that was claimed? Maybe I'm just slow but I don't understand how that was done.

I can hear the convo now:
So what are you in for?
-Killed a whole family just to watch them die, how about you?
-Stuffed fish with a couple ounces of lead.

Hell, there’s mother-rapers, father-rapers, but the worst of all are the

LITTERERS.

They filleted some fish and stuffed the fillets down the mouths of other fish.

Its more along the lines of theft of prize funds likely totaling over a million bucks, plus defrauding sponsors for large sums of cash.

At one point, there was a championship event that you would win 700K in.. FLW Championship with incentives.

I have fished both as a amateur and as a pro for over 25 years. I have also professionally guided for over 25 years. There has always been cheating and there always will be. People are going to find a way to cheat at anything

Pro fishing has done things to help with the opportunity by pairing people who do not know each other by a draw format but even with that, we had a professional win almost a million dollars by cheating. Look up Tony Christian in Hull Georgia.

As for the prize money, major events have had 100K top prize now for many years. The fall off is pretty steep from there. There are other things given as prizes to up the return. I won the 2006 Bassmaster Tour on Lake Lanier. Got 65K for the win and I got a brand new Triton fully rigged boat (40K value) added to that. It adds up. The extra incentives are what help you. Motor, boat, electronics all pay for wins.

Its not like golf. There are about 100 guys out there making a solid living at Tournament fishing. The rest are constantly trying to find a way to break even. Its a tough life which is why I chose Guiding over tournament fishing in the end. That and the fact that I didnt have the confidence that I was good enough to compete with the best 100 guys in the world

The Walleye thing does not surprised me at all. I am actually surprised at the outrage over it. It is common place in amateur events

I'm shocked not a single punch was thrown. Fishermen are a different breed.

Kind of off topic but the scariest I've ever been was running crawfish traps with my uncle in the basin as a young boy. He got to a line of traps and it was apparent someone had run them. The words I heard come out his mouth, I know for a fact if he would've come up on them running his traps he'd have shot them dead right then and there. I just wanted out of that skiff! LMAO
