Wow. Just because you can't stand it doesn't make it overrated. Hell it's probably a compliment to the song that you don't.
There are so many timeless renditions of this song, and it's got one of the best chorus of all time.

Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer is a horrible, horrible song.


Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto by James Brown is a great song.
