I've been riding for damn near 50 years and have never seen that thing. I've seen leather fringe from the ends of grips and thought that looked ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as that thing.
How have you been riding that long and never seen these? They're all the rage with the Live to Ride, Ride to Starbucks crowds who think it makes them look tough when they're not working their 8-5 office job.

I’d never be dumb enough to ride in shorts and flip flops. And that guy is about 150 lbs heavier than I am. And finally, I’m not bald or even balding.

No offense, but I find that hard to believe unless you are never around any other riders. Whips are quite common to see on bikes.

I'm not part of that crowd. I'm not some RUB who buys a bike to pose and look tough. I buy the ones I've had to actually ride and travel, and do so solo and not in any crowd.
I hate riding in groups and have only done it 2 times and that was 2 times too many. Gas stops are determined by the smallest tank and if in a group of 6, it could take up to 30 minutes or more to just get out of the gas station.
One guy's got to smoke, one guy has to get something to eat and drink, others have to piss. Somebody takes 10 minutes to put his gear back on.
Screw that. Riding solo I get my gas and I'm back on the road or if I do have to pee, it's just a couple more minutes.

Ok. That explains how you’ve never seen a get-back whip.
I rode from the time I was 14 until I had to give it up just recently. A lot of guys and girls both have had them for as long as I can remember. My brother has a red & gold one on his Road Glide. I personally never had the desire to have one. But to each their own I suppose.

One thing's for sure you would have to be a stupid mofo to hang it from the front brake lever. Be hilarious to watch fat boy tug on that whip a little too hard and face plant into the pavement when the brake grabs. At least clutch side there's no danger of that happening plus you could still maintain your throttle.

You should drive close to one and see if it can break your side glass...

Well they are only really common in one type of bike. If you don't hang around that group much, I could see how you wouldn't see them. You aren't going to see them in groups that do things like track days, dirt, or in adventure circles.
If I didn't hang around Deals Gap as much as I did when I lived near it, I doubt I would have seen them.

Probably will, but why would a biker want to get run down by a person in a 3000+ pound vehicle, they are going to lose that battle every time.

People are acting like it’s a fricking midieval mace...it’s a long paracord with tassels on the end.

nothing like getting woken up at 6:30 AM by the neighborhood jackarse and his bike. It must suck having parents that never gave these guys attention when they were kids. Hey look notice me, notice how loud i am. bunch of betas

Looks like a great way to arrive at the scene of the crash.

Have you ever raced a bike? Your Honda will never catch it.

Not the bikes these guys ride, these things convert gas to noise. Top end is garbage.
