Motorcycle riders apparently don’t wave to moped riders

Noticed this today while stuck behind a moped.
Motorcycle riders wave to each other almost without fail. A moped is sorta the same thing (open air, 2 wheels)
What gives?

FFS, they don't even wave to scooter riders, which are an entire notch above moped riders.
Occasionally they will mistake a scooter for a mc and wave, but that usually ends in fisticuffs, a knife fight or gunplay.

my son was on his harley and i was on my 50cc scooter when we met another harley. i dropped the left-hand-down peace sign, and my son laughed at me. the other guy simply ignored my existence. your experiences match my own, therefore, it is a verified finding.

I ride both. Currently a Honda ST1300 and I also have a can am spyder RT. I waive to everyone including those on bicycles. When on the can am sport bike guys waive at me. Most Harley dudes do not.

If you don't have a BMI over 35 and/or have type-2 diabetes, you aren't going to get a wave.
For those mad at this post: go be fat somewhere else.
