Ok, so nothing that actually showed the guy to be a malicious murderer.

Got it.

Do people ever leave their kid in a car for 8 hours on a pleasant day and we just never hear about it? It seems like it happens way more than it should.

Because their father knows how to look at data and formulate coherent thoughts?

I expect they'll manage.

Yeah I don’t see where the public at large benefits and gets justice by locking this lady away.

Because their father has the expectations that leaving a kid in a vehicle for 8 hours is just a mistake. Very unfortunate.

Bull shite excuse for this lady. This lady even took her vehicle during lunch with wawAwAWTTABTTTTTSAHUher child in it. 2 years old. She had 3 opportunities and unfortunately the 3rd one was costly. I’m not buying her story
What don't you buy? Do you think she did it in purpose? It is almost to a level of unthinkable evil that I wouldn't expect it from most murders on death row since torturing your own young child is even inconceivable to really be people.

It’s not “ shtick “. It’s observing the roughly 40 cases per year and educating oneself on the commonalities . I would NOT recommend this to you, it would be far too strenuous. Just keep ranting for my enjoyment instead.
for what it's worth, you're WaPo article you love so much has no real statistical relevance. It's purely anecdotal

And, again, I don't know if she committed murder. I do think she's a piece of shite. "Threatening suicide" is nothing more than a cry for help.

It’s not anecdotal when 40 episodes a year all follow EXACTLY the same pattern. All that information is just a google search away . Articles, videos, interviews- it’s all there for easy review by any fair-minded person. You can choose to deny the overwhelming commonalities if you are committed to obstinace, but you will still be incorrect.

What a tragic story.

I hope the mom is able to find a way to forgive herself. And her husband (to forgive her)

In 2018 they should have fricking app or car feature that prevents this. We have 360 degree cameras and self parking vehicles, how hard would it be to have tech that alerts if something heavy is on the back seat (my front passenger seat does this if I place too much weight in it and do not buckle the seat belt).

I agree completely. Hard for me to comprehend because whenever I would bring my then-toddler(s) to their little school I was having cute chat with them not ignoring them but still I know situations vary especially when it’s something outside of ones normal routine. She’s a frickin nurse practitioner not some scumbag welfare queen in the casino.

Correct. But it’s multiple steps beyond just you taking the kids to school when your wife does.

It’s when you’re taking your kid to daycare, and they’re sleeping because they were up late the night before, and you’ve got a big project going on a work, and your mom is in the hospital for chemo, then your boss calls to check up on the project. And you forget.

Gladwell talks about it in one of his books when it talks about airplane crashes from pilot error. It’s a series of minor mistakes or lapses that individually wouldn’t cause any issue. And 99 time out of a hundred all of them together wouldn’t either.

Best thing is to always put your left shoe next to the baby seat. If you forget, you'll realize it very quickly and go back. Then you'll see the baby.

Also good - but you'll notice your shoe faster.
