There are already several devices on the market you can buy to prevent such a thing...

No it’s just that we’ve discussed this a dozen times here over the last decade plus, followed the previous cases, heard the parents and law enforcement talk, familiarized ourselves with the circumstances of these cases, and drawn thoughtful conclusions.

The truth is this happens all the time. We understand why it happens. We understand the circumstances that contribute to it. We understand the human brain, how repetition effects the brain, when it is likely to happen ( work, dropping kid off, change in schedule, change in caretaker) we apply critical thinking and we draw the most intelligent and informed conclusion.

Or conversely, as some of you do , just say everybody who disagrees sucks as a parent , make some barely- coherent reference to some altogether different topic, give each other attaboys and continue shitposting as normal.

No, you think I’m comparing two completely unrelated things because you aren’t following the conversation.

I followed the conversation just fine. Your argument makes no sense given the context of the thread.

quote:

Presumption is the issue. The presumption that “this could happen to anyone I empathize with her”, which is absolutely ludicrous.

So you believe it ludicrous to believe that a parent could forget a child in a car without intent or maliciousness?

quote:

On the flip side when someone is accused of something such as rape, 99% of the time this board presumes guilt and wants to initiate castration.

Again, completely unrelated. And second, I'm fairly certain your substantively wrong in your presumption here.

Some of us are intellectually curious, we try to understand the things we see in our world. Sometimes we discover things that aren’t extremely simple and may in fact be counter- intuitive. When that happens we usually meet a proudly ignorant buffoon such as yourself and we say a silent prayer of thanks to our gene pool for sparing us from your fate.

I believe it ludicrous to automatically presume no intent or maliciousness based on other cases but you seem intent on putting words and thoughts together for me on my behalf.

I’d rather have another one of me who looks at the context of each case than another one of you who uses unrelated cases to back up assumptions of intent.

Look man, a terrible, tragic accident does not necessarily equal a crime.

Living with the guilt of what happened is more jab enough punishment if that’s all you’re looking for.

Lol. You are just embarrassing yourself man. Nobody ever said anything about not looking at the content of each case. I specifically pointed out two examples where this would not apply. Of course we look at every detail with maximum skepticism . It’s entirely possible ( although statistically unlikely) that she was a sociopathic killer like that scumbag in Georgia .

See as a parent of young children i have nothing but sympathy for parents who accidentally do this.

Could happen to anyone and if you don’t think so you are fooling yourself.

In fact it happens to a guy I know unpin Shreveport probably 8-10 years ago. Was a good guy, surgeon, loved his kid. And it happened.

I understand the knee jerk reaction to judge these as horrible people, but that is very rarely the case.

Who presumed anything?

It was a question. I'm trying to clarify because you are all over the map and keep discussing things that are completely irrelevant to the discussion.

Bull. Your whole shtick in this thread is bringing up other cases and data/research on the matter. Go back to the first page. If anything, this case is more similar tot he GA one than the rest of them. You didn’t come into this thread with a open mind like you are subtly claiming. Now you’ve resorted to saying I’m embarrassing myself and calling me a dumbass. lol

Science and precedent, oh the horror!

This woman was researching how to kill a kid in a car beforehand? Because that certainly wasn't mention in the article.

It’s not “ shtick “. It’s observing the roughly 40 cases per year and educating oneself on the commonalities . I would NOT recommend this to you, it would be far too strenuous. Just keep ranting for my enjoyment instead.

You said the cases were similar. How, specifically?

That guy is literally the worst human being in the world. He intentionally baked his own son. It’s unimaginable.

The guy was supposed to drop his son off at daycare, cane back to his car during for lunch, then came back to his car after work. Son found dead. That’s how.
